Pepper belonged to a friend in rural Virginia. He was full of energy but old. When this painting came in the mail the family had just returned from the veterinarian's office where Pepper had been put down. I had no idea Pepper was sick and they didn't know I was doing a painting of their beloved dog. Odd but nice coincidence.
