During a solo motorcycle ride on Route 66 I developed a gas leak in the afternoon. I pulled into Williams, AZ and was lucky to find a motorcycle repair shop still open. Although it was closing time Shane stayed until the bike was ride-able. He is a character. When I asked what was underneath all that hair on his face he answered, "Just more ugly." He hadn't seen his face for over twenty years. I sent him a portrait of what I thought he would look like sans beard- he called to thank me and said he gave it to his mother. This was a juried painting.
